Teabridge Constabulary has launched a major investigation following the discovery of two people dead at separate locations within the town.
The first discovery was made early on Wednesday morning near a footpath on the outskirts of Teabridge. Police were called to a second location several hours later, where another person was found dead.
Officers initially treated the incidents separately but have now confirmed that detectives are examining whether the two deaths may be connected.
A Major Incident Room has been established and additional officers have been brought into Teabridge.
Chief Superintendent Evelyn Marsh said investigators were still working to establish the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
“We are at a very early stage,” she said. “Our priority is determining exactly what happened and whether there is any connection between these incidents.”
Police have asked anyone who was travelling through Teabridge late on Tuesday evening or during the early hours of Wednesday morning to contact investigators.
Serious violent crime remains extremely rare in Teabridge, and news of the deaths has caused considerable concern among residents.
