Wickham Hall will open its doors to the public this October for its traditional Halloween Ball, marking the first major public gathering at the estate since the Teabridge Killings last year.
Lady Violet Wickham confirmed that the event will take place on 24 October and will once again coincide with Teabridge’s Night of the Lantern Man.
The announcement has already generated considerable interest locally.
Wickham Hall withdrew from public events following the killings that unsettled Teabridge during the summer of 2025, and access to the estate has remained limited ever since.
This year’s Halloween Ball will therefore be the first opportunity for many residents to enter the Hall in more than a year.
Guests will be invited to wear formal masquerade dress, with several rooms on the ground floor expected to be opened for the evening.
Lady Violet said the family felt the time was right for Wickham Hall to become part of community life again.
“Wickham Hall has stood through considerably darker chapters than any of us can remember,” she said. “It should not remain closed forever.”
The ball will take place on 24 October, the same night Teabridge traditionally marks the Night of the Lantern Man by placing lanterns in windows, doorways and gardens across the town.
