For one week each summer, Teabridge comes together to celebrate the tradition that helped shape our town’s identity.

Tea Week has been at the heart of village life for generations, bringing together residents, visitors, local businesses and community groups in a week-long celebration of Teabridge’s rich tea heritage. While the festivities have evolved over the years, their purpose remains unchanged: to honour the traditions, stories and community spirit that continue to make Teabridge such a special place.

The town’s association with tea dates back to the early nineteenth century, when merchants, tea rooms and coaching inns helped establish Teabridge as a welcoming stop for travellers passing through Oxfordshire. As the town prospered, so too did its reputation for hospitality, afternoon tea and warm community gatherings, eventually giving rise to the annual Tea Week celebration we know today.

Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy a varied programme of markets, talks, exhibitions, live music and community events taking place across the town. Tea Week also marks the annual public unveiling of The Porcelain Pinky, one of Teabridge’s most treasured historic artefacts and a much-loved symbol of the town’s heritage.
